“We have seen in this short space that I have led COLJUEGOS in Colombia that corruption and illegality represent a scourge that we must fight with determination,” said Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos, in his discussion during GAT., within the presentation of FECOLJUEGOS Panel, "Challenges and future of the Gaming Industry in Latin America.
“It is essential to strengthen inter-institutional efforts that allow strengthening the regulatory basis of the games of chance and luck industry, which is why COLJUEGOS has proposed to celebrate agreements for legality with associations and industry operators, which have been a very important support in this fight against the scourge of illegality. Government entities permanently support us, as well as the Attorney General's Office, the National Police and the Army, which allow us to guarantee a legal and transparent environment for all actors involved. In addition to this, it is essential to work on the strengthening of the Money Laundering Risk Management System,” he went on saying.

“IWe play a key role in the prevention and detection of these illicit activities to generate the trust of all of you, the operators of Latin America, and the trust in the development of gambling in Colombia. It is essential that we reflect and work together, in order to establish standards to build a more transparent, responsible and sustainable industry. That is why I propose that we work on the creation of a Latin American Commission of Gaming Regulators that allows us to exchange best practices,” he concluded.
