Danish Gambling Market Rises 25% in August 2025, Driven by Online Casinos and Betting Growth

The Danish Gambling Authority has released its latest monthly report, revealing that total gambling spend in Denmark rose by 25.1% in August 2025 compared to the same month last year.

The strong growth was primarily fueled by the continued expansion of online casinos and sports betting, which increased by 20.7% and 53.4%, respectively, compared to August 2024. The figures highlight Danish players’ growing preference for digital gaming options.

Meanwhile, land-based casinos also performed positively, recording a 4.9% increase year-on-year. In contrast, the slot machine segment saw a slight decline of 0.7%, marking the only category to experience a downturn during the month.

The report also included updated figures for ROFUS, Denmark’s Register of Voluntarily Excluded Players, and StopSpillet, the national gambling helpline. These initiatives reflect the authority’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible gambling and support individuals seeking assistance with gaming-related issues.

Overall, August 2025 data underscores a clear trend: Danish players are increasingly embracing online gaming and betting platforms, solidifying digital gambling’s position as the leading force in Denmark’s regulated market.
