(Switzerland).- The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has underlined its ongoing commitment to integrity ahead of this week’s Suzuki Cup kick-off by expanding their partnership with Sportradar’s Integrity Services to include Education and Prevention.

AFF strengthens integrity stance with Sportradar ahead of Suzuki Cup

This will be the third straight Suzuki Cup that will benefit from Sportradar’s world leading monitoring solutions to support the fight against betting-related match-fixing and corruption. Now into its fifth year, the robust integrity strategy jointly enacted by the AFF and Sportradar has been enhanced with education provided to all key stakeholders involved in the flagship international football tournament in Southeast Asia.

As part of this, mandatory integrity briefings were conducted with all 11 national teams’ players and team officials participating in this year’s AFF Suzuki Cup, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam.

The workshops highlighted the risk factors, best practices and procedures for reporting integrity breaches to ensure participants are informed and prepared to minimise potential corruption. All participants signed an Integrity Declaration Form to signify their commitment to supporting the integrity of the Suzuki Cup.

AFF general secretary Lt Gen Dato’ Sri Azzuddin Ahmad (Retired) said: “We are fully committed to upholding integrity in our competitions. From our experience during the previous two editions of the AFF Suzuki Cup, we have learnt that there is no organisation more qualified than Sportradar at delivering strong integrity provisions. We recognise that educating our participants is another essential component that will provide added support to our comprehensive strategy to protect the integrity of the Suzuki Cup. As such, we are confident that we will witness another successful tournament that all of our fans can enjoy and be proud of as a result.”

Managing Director of Integrity Services at Sportradar, Andreas Krannich said: “Our relationship with the AFF over the past five years demonstrates their ongoing commitment to safeguarding the Suzuki Cup. The introduction of our education services as part of our integrity strategy with them further highlights this. It is an honour to be entrusted to directly engage with the national team players and officials of the various AFF Member Associations and work together to safeguard this much-loved competition for a third straight season.”
