Alexandre Tomic, CEO and Founder of Alea reflects on SBC Summit Americas

A Strategic Presence Focused on Sweepstakes and Latin America

What were your main objectives for participating in SBC Summit Americas, and how would you evaluate your company's presence at the event?

"SBC Americas brought together two of our strongest markets in one place. Sweepstakes and LatAm. That doesn't happen often, and we weren't going to miss it.

Sweepstakes has been one of the biggest stories in our business this past year. On our platform, we went from 1 million to 14 million in monthly GGR. LatAm has been building quietly at the same time. You don't usually get both in one room."

New Business Opportunities and Growing Interest in Sweepstakes

What types of business opportunities, strategic partnerships, or new connections were you able to generate during the exhibition?

"We had a lot of good conversations with LatAm operators who are now seriously looking at Sweepstakes as a way into markets they couldn't touch before. That was probably the strongest commercial thread of the show.

With existing partners, the jackpot kept coming up naturally. They're already integrated with us, they know the product, and they want to build on it.

I also joined a fireside chat on Sweepstakes with Jonathan Brovda from Gains.com. We see the market from very different angles. We have a bird's-eye view across a lot of operators, while he sees what happens at the player level inside a casino. Putting those two views together made for a very interesting chat".

Which topics, trends, or challenges were most frequently discussed during the event, and which do you believe will be most relevant to the future of the gaming industry?

"The Sweepstakes conversation has shifted. A year ago people were still asking whether it was a real market. At this show, nobody was asking that anymore. That tells you something about how fast this space moves.

P2P skill games and AI Live Dealers are the ones I'm watching next. Both are still early, but they promise a lot".

What did your company showcase during the event? Could you elaborate on its main features and benefits?

"The Alea Jackpot was our main focus at the event. We launched it earlier this year, and the reaction from operators has been very strong.

The problem with most jackpots today is that they're studio-specific. An operator builds a player base around one studio's jackpot mechanics, then switches to another provider and has to educate their players all over again.

We solved that by building an agnostic jackpot that sits above every game and every provider in Alea.

The operator has full control. They can define how much of each bet goes to the jackpot contribution, segment by player type, and decide when the jackpot falls. And because the jackpot is funded by player contributions, it can essentially fund itself.

A big part of our vision was making jackpots predictable. Operators are often launching campaigns without really knowing how they're going to perform. That's why we built the simulation engine. Before a campaign goes live, operators can see with 99.9% accuracy how it's likely to perform; hit frequency, profitability, drop rates. You know exactly what you're walking into before you launch.

It also handles multiple currencies automatically, which is very important when you're operating across different markets. You don't want to create and manage separate jackpot campaigns every time the currency changes.

It's basically the jackpot we would have wanted when we were operators ourselves."

Next Stops: iGB Live and Product Expansion

Following your participation in SBC Summit Americas, what are the company's main plans, launches, or projects for the coming months? Will you be attending any upcoming industry events?

"iGB Live in London in July is the next major event on the calendar.

On the product side, the jackpot is the priority. It's live, it's running well, and the commercial pipeline around it is strong.

More broadly, aggregation is becoming something much bigger than games. We saw that first with payments, then with Sweepstakes, and now with the jackpot. Operators are looking for more tools to differentiate themselves, and that's changing what aggregation means.

There's more in the pipeline before the end of the year, but the direction is the same".

The regional market continues to evolve rapidly. What opportunities do you currently see, and what are your expectations for the remainder of 2026 and for 2027?

"LatAm remains the most interesting region in iGaming right now. Brazil gets most of the attention, but it's not the whole story. Colombia, Peru and Argentina continue to evolve, and there's a lot happening across the continent.

We've touched on Sweepstakes and P2P already, and both are part of this picture going into 2027. But the question I hear most, and honestly the one I find hardest to answer, is AI. We're still very early. There's a lot of experimentation right now, and most of it is noise. But something real will come out of it, and when it does, it will move fast.

I don't think we've seen the most interesting part yet."
